Why Am I Running for Senate?I want to serve the people of Minnesota Senate District 47. I would like to see our State return to a period when political opponents could disagree, but also work together to serve the people of Minnesota. We have seen too many members of our legislature vote lock step with their party simply for reasons of rhetoric and political gain.
I believe in communicating to my constituents what I am doing and why I am doing it. I believe that what made Minnesota great is our investment in our people and our State. The result will be a great place to live, work and do business, and a top notch workforce. |

Jim and wife Joanne have been married for 43 years and raised a son and daughter. James and his wife Jody live in Los Angles CA and Christina lives with her daughter in Shoreview MN Jim and his wife Joanne, grew up in suburban New York, but have lived in Minnesota over 40 years and more than 15 in Carver. He is a believer in life long education earning a BS in Physics in 67, a MS EE in 1981 and MS in Management of Technology in 1994. Both Masters degrees were from University of Minnesota. He worked 40 years in the semiconductor industry both as an engineer and engineering manager. Most of that time with IBM in Rochester, MN and rest with FSI International in Chaska. He served 18 years on Rochester, MN Transit Committee and in 1996 was named a friend of transit. He served 12 years on the Carver City Council with 10 of those years as Mayor. This was a period when Carver’s population tripled. Today he is on the Carver County Library Board, the Board of The Community Foundation of Carver County, SD 112’ s Beacon Council, A Carver Lion, Carver’s Park and Recreation Board. |
